In 1977 I did field work in Surinam recording music assisted by David Perez. Two lps, now available as CD's. were released by Lyrichord as FROM SLAVERY TO FREEDOM - MUSIC OF THE SARAMAKA MAROONS OF SURINAME, Lyrichord LLST 7354 andSURINAME - JAVANESE MUSIC, Lyrichord LLST 7317. The music we recorded of the Ndjuka was never released but can we heard as the soundtrack accompanying these images.
