Diving the Homestead
This was the first time I'd ever tried out my new Sealife DC500 underwater camera. My brother-in-law Brad and I met at the Warm, mineral water aquifer called The Homestead in Utah for a kind of refresher dive (of a sort) so I could get more familiar with my camera. Its his first time here and my 4th (I think) water temp is about 95 year round (there was 3 inches of snow outside that day.) Not much to see but silty walls and a few objects: PVC swim-throughs and a few "platforms" (one for a saftey stop at 15 feet.) The max depth of this crater is 63 feet (if I remember right) but there's not much to see below 45 feet. In fact, the walls and floor are so covered with silt that we aren't supposed to dive lower than the 45 foot deep suspended swim-through. *sigh* It was still nice...
